Catalytic Health Branding

A healthcare communications agency seeking to stand out from the crowd.

About the Client

Catalytic Health is a medical publisher and healthcare communications agency first established in 2009. Their website was in need of a major overhaul, and they lacked any established branding aside from a logo, which they wanted to retain.

For this project, I designed and created a completely new website and visual identity, including slide and document templates. I established clear guidelines and coached teams on their consistent implementation across various projects.

I also expanded the new branding to update logos and styles for Catalytic Health’s various properties and publications.

Before starting to build, I planned and visualized the new website’s layout, which included three “main” pages (Home / About Us / Services) and several individual sub-pages for specific service offerings.

Logo Refinement

The new visual identity had to incorporate and build around the brand’s existing logo, which the client specified was not to be changed.

However, individual logos for sub-properties, and in particular for the “Science for the Real World” series of scientific journals, were refined to match each other as well as the new branding. I created new vector files for each property, in English and French, for use on web and to ensure consistency in size.

Brand Colours

Building on the red and orange of the original branding, the new visual identity includes an expanded palette of bold, energetic complimentary colours and gradients.
